We had the tremendous opportunity to work with the city of Anaheim, on a City Beautification project promoting community pride thanks to Superior Graffiti Solutions!
This project truly touched our hearts. Picturing Peace is a collaborative community engagement and photography project that explores youth violence, peace and safety, and community support for young people. The project was developed by the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support and the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (MDID), to involve young people in recognizing community elements fostering peace, rather than violence. Kids from the local Boys and Girls Club were partnered with a professional photographer to create photographic representations of peace. For some kids, peace was a tranquil park. For others, it was culturally diverse and accepting friendships. It was an honor to work with Minneapolis and these organizations and humbling to see peace through the eyes of children.
We worked with the Jackson Hole Public Arts Dept. to create an all-call for local artists, asking them to submit their favorite artwork that represented their town of Jackson, WY. After a overwhelming turnout of great artwork, the JHA selected their favorite 11 entries to be printed and wrapped for Phase 1 of the project. The box wraps are spread throughout the city of Jackson, with install surfaces ranging from traffic signal boxes, utility boxes and irrigation boxes. We recieved a ton of positive feedback about the proejct while working on the proejct as tourists and locals alike were excited to see the boxes could be transformed into beautiful works of art.
We were honored when Delaware North—a leading hospitality management company—reached out to Clean Slate Group for a project in Yellowstone National Park. Their goal was to increase the use of recycling bins in the worlds’ first national park, while honoring its history. Using Delaware North and YNP’s massive inventory of historic images, recycling bins are now wrapped in iconic historical images of the park. The bins also feature various languages and symbols to encourage recycling for its 3+ million yearly visitors from around the world.
When people talk about Clean Slate Group, they usually think of our art wraps on boxes and other graffiti-prone surfaces. However, there is another avenue of our City Beautification wraps that most people don't know about. CSG also specailizes in trasforming traffic signal boxes and other surfaces into fuinctional maps and other wayfinding signage. This a great non-traditional solution for any city looking to add additional wayfinding or infographics to an urban environment.
We recently completed a pilot project for the city of Bismarck, ND. This project was especailly fun for us because Bismarck is the home town of our Bozeman office' Manager Ryan Kramer, he was excited to bring the Clean Slate vision to the streets of his home town. This box is a great example of how we can take a landscape format image or piece of artwork and transform it into a 3D piece of art by using the natural wide format to make the image wrap around multiple panels of a box.
Here at Clean Slate Group, we are lucky to be based in a town as stunning and community minded as Bozeman. We were so excited when the City asked us to help address graffiti issues by installing vinyl wraps on traffic and utility boxes. Teaming up with the Downtown Bozeman Partnership, we supported the City of Bozeman’s progressive approach to city beautification. Clean Slate Group facilitated an artist call to feature local art on traffic boxes throughout the city. By mid-2014, sixty-two boxes will display historic images and local art, changing eyesores into canvas.
West Yellowstone, Montana is the busiest tourist town and entrancte to Yellowstone National Park. They host over 3.5 million visitors each year, and during every season. West Yellowstone had the creative idea to cover unsightly traffic signal boxes and bear-proof trash cans, or “bear boxes,” with images from their four-season town, in art that reflects the beauty of the surrounding area. Summer visitors are reminded of snowmobiling and cross-country skiing and winter visitors dream of returning in the spring to view blooming wildflowers from the river’s edge.
We were impressed and motivated by Great Falls Business Improvement District’s (BID) hometown zeal! The BID maintains, beautifies, and stimulates development in the historic downtown district, with a down-to-earth yet passionate approach to creating a thriving community. Their service-mindedness resonated with our own commitment to local organizations. We were excited to help the Great Falls BID support a wide variety of youth organizations through Clean Slate Project, and grateful for the special relationship we developed with the Special Olympics of Montana. It’s amazing how a few vinyl wraps can do so many great things when we partner with organizations like the Great Falls BID!
Lewistown came to us with the idea of wrapping their town's traffic signal boxes with local student art. Although there are only 3 traffic lights in town, the installation really livened up the downtown area and the students selected were very excited to see their art on public display.
In collaboration with University of Montana Western we brought a bit of color to the college campus in Dillon, Montana.
We worked with Big Sky Arts Council, Northwestern Energy and other local donors to transform a number of utility boxes and bear-proof trash recepticles in the Big Sky area. The amount of amazing art and photography that we received was overwhelming, and the selection committee chose their favorite artwork that fit with the mountain town vibe in Big Sky. The final results turned out awesome!

Many cities boast vibrant Graffiti Art communities and we’ve been lucky to see extraordinary installations. City Beautification embraces the flavor of each neighborhood and our anti-graffiti vinyl is targeted at deterring vandalism. Graffiti Art displays are also susceptible to tagging, but we can change that. Images of art can be turned into permanent displays using anti-graffiti vinyl. City Beautification transforms walls into a canvas for your city’s unique brushstrokes.
